Seasonal Quality Controller/Phytosanitary Inspector 2025/2026

About the role
Our Quality Controllers start working in mid-November to enable them to undertake the necessary training before the packing season starts. They also assist with the pre-season preparation and cleaning of the packhouse. The positions go through until the completion of the cherry export packing season in late January / early February.
Once the cherry packing season begins, you will be involved in sampling and monitoring the packed cherries to ensure compliance is met to the required standards. You will be providing sample results to the relevant team members and also ensuring all documentation is completed accurately. Staff training, inductions and supervision also form part of the role.

Job Requirements
This is a great position for someone who takes pride in their work and:
- Has exceptional attention to detail
- Has excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
- Is self-motivated
- Is capable of working long hours when required
- Is available to work for the entire cherry season from mid November through to the completion of the cherry export packing season late in January/early February.
- Is able to pass a Ministry of Justice conviction check
- Can pass an ISHIHARA eye test
Previous QC/Phytosanitary experience is preferred, but not essential
